What's that I hear you say? Savoury popcorn?! I can sense you turning your nose up in disgust....stay with me a moment. This works, as in seriously works. As in licking the bowl clean works!
I love popcorn and it's a perfect lazy excuse for dinner/midnight munchies when you want something filling as well as a little bit naughty. And there are those times when you don't fancy something sweet, and you don't have any sandwich making materials in your fridge BOOM: perfect occasion for popcorn!!! I was inspired by this recipe, and can't wait to try out more of their variations of popcorn.... Watch this space :)
Also, make your own popcorn. Do it! None of that microwave bag stuff, I've been converted by this awesome recipe.... And she is right, this method does pop every kernel, magic!! And no excuses, it's dead easy and so much better for you.
Super simple + super tasty + super quick = winning idea!
- Veg oil
- 1/3 cup Popcorn kernels
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 2 Garlic cloves (crushed & diced)
- 1 teaspoon dried Rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried Mixed herbs
- Parmesan Cheese (finely grated/crumbed)
Heat butter, olive oil and garlic in a small pan on medium until garlic is softened and fragrant. Add herbs and stir well. Remove pan from heat.
Add popcorn to large mixing bowl and drizzle with herby mixture.
Add a healthy amount of parmesan cheese. Toss popcorn well. Add more cheese.
Munch away to your hearts content :)
